Preimplantation Genetic Testing for Structural Rearrangements (PGT-SR) is an advanced and specialised genetic test done in embryos during IVF to identify embryos carrying chromosomal structural abnormalities like translocations, inversions, deletions, or duplications that parents may carry. PGT-SR is done in embryos of couples with known stranslocations or chromosomal rearrangements are at higher risk for miscarriages and implantation failures. PGT-SR aids in selecting embryos with balanced chromosomes, increasing the probability of a healthy pregnancy and reducing the emotional, physical, and financial burden associated with repeated pregnancy losses.
