About Dr. V. Praveen Rao
Dr. Praveen Rao Vadije is a certified neonatologist with over 11 years of experience in neonatal intensive care, accredited by the Medical Council of India. He earned his MBBS from Osmania Medical College, Hyderabad, followed by an MD in Pediatrics from Mamata Medical College, Khammam. Dr. Praveen is highly skilled in managing critically ill newborns, including extremely preterm infants (from 25 weeks) and those with complex congenital anomalies. His areas of expertise include both noninvasive and invasive ventilation (including High-Frequency Oscillatory Ventilation), surfactant therapy, inhaled nitric oxide (iNO), therapeutic hypothermia, central line placement, exchange transfusion, and peritoneal dialysis.
Dr. Praveen further advanced his specialization by completing his DrNB in Neonatology from Fernandez Hospital, Hyderabad, under the National Board of Examinations. He has actively contributed to neonatal research, with 10 published papers on topics such as NICU cost-reduction QI, lung ultrasound, MIS-N, neonatal analgesia, and NIPPV, along with 8 more in progress. As a passionate academician, he frequently serves as faculty at national conferences and workshops including IAP Neocon and TS Neocon, where he speaks on neonatal emergencies, simulation, advanced ventilation, POCUS, biostatistics, and the Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
Dr. Praveen has a strong foundation in neonatal care and is dedicated to improving outcomes for newborns. His practical skills, active involvement in research, and passion for teaching make him a reliable and respected professional in the field of neonatal care.
