About Dr Sasmita Sinha

Sasmita Sinha is a dedicated and compassionate Consultant Physiotherapist at Ankura Hospital, specializing in neurology. She completed her Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT, 2011–2016) and Master of Physiotherapy in Neurology (MPT, 2017–2019) from the West Bengal University of Health Sciences (WBUHS). With a strong academic foundation and practical exposure, she is committed to evidence-based, patient-centred care, enhancing quality of life through holistic physiotherapy interventions.

Sasmita began her clinical career with a six-month internship at NIOH (NILD) and subsequently worked as a physiotherapist at Sriram Nursing Home from August 2016 to December 2019, managing a wide range of neurological, orthopedic, and sports-related cases. She also completed short-term clinical postings at B.C. Roy Hospital (West Bengal) and SVNIRTAR (Odisha), further strengthening her clinical expertise.

Her postgraduate research thesis, “Effects of sciatic nerve mobilisation on lower limb muscles activation and pain reduction in patients with lumbosacral radiculopathy – a clinical trial,” highlights her academic interest in research and commitment to applying scientific principles to patient care. She excels in patient assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning, particularly in neurology, orthopedics, and sports physiotherapy.
