About Dr GSS Mohapatra

Dr. G S S Mohapatra is a distinguished Obstetrician, Gynecologist, and Infertility Specialist with over 20 years of experience. Holding MBBS and MD degrees in Obstetrics & Gynecology, he is renowned for his expertise in gynecological endoscopy and laparoscopic surgery.

He graduated from Calcutta National Medical College, Kolkata University, and proceeded to pursue postgraduate studies in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He further honed his skills through comprehensive training in basic and advanced laparoscopy at World Laparoscopy Hospital in New Delhi and Gujarat. In July 2019, he pursued his Master’s Course in Advanced Laparoscopy at the International School of Surgical Anatomy (ISSA) in Verona, Italy, under the guidance of distinguished experts Dr. Marcello Ceccaroni and Dr. S. Puntambekar.

 Dr. GSS Mohapatra received the TIMES HEALTH ICONS AWARD from the Governor of Odisha on July 29, 2018, recognizing his groundbreaking contributions to gynecological laparoscopy and infertility treatment. Additionally, he was honored as THE BEST GYNECOLOGIST & LAPAROSCOPIC SURGEON IN EASTERN INDIA by Primetime Media at the GLOBAL HEALTHCARE EXCELLENCE AWARDS held on September 23, 2017.

 Furthermore, he completed his training in Minimal Access Surgery at IRCAD, University of Strasbourg, France, and Tubingen, Germany, under the mentorship of Dr. Arnold Wattiez, a renowned expert in laparoscopy and Endometriosis. He pursued a Fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgical Oncology under the guidance of Dr. Robert Zurawin from AAGL, USA, and Dr. Sailesh Puntambekar, India’s pioneer in uterine transplantation surgery.

 Dr. GSS Mohapatra is widely recognized as an exemplary specialist in endometriosis excision. He received advanced training in this field at Bordeaux, France under the esteemed Professor Horace Roman. Every day, numerous patients seek his expertise to achieve a pain-free life.  Dr. GSS Mohapatra achieved a significant milestone in Odisha’s medical field by becoming the first robotic surgeon to perform surgery for a benign indication using the da Vinci platform on June 10th, 2022. Additionally, he performed Odisha’s first Vnotes (vaginal natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery) procedure in 2023.
